Our
Story

Ethereal Arts Northwest was founded by Katie Lynch in December of 2018. Prior to founding her own studio, Katie had been training and assisting Pamella Inveen at Gig Harbor Aerial Fitness. Pamella decided to follow her heart back to her hometown of Charleston and Katie decided to open her own studio in Pamella's absence, with the dream of keeping the aerial community alive in the Harbor. Ethereal Arts has found itself in several different locations over the last few years but will officially settle into its new location in September of 2021! Over the uncertainty of the last year, our studio has been supported by our community and amazing family of aerialists!

At Ethereal Arts Northwest, we offer classes in aerial, acrobatics, and yoga. Some of our classes include Intro to Circus Arts, Aerial Silks, Aerial Rope, Aerial Dynamics, Hand Balancing, Partner Acrobatics, and more! See our full list of available classes with complete descriptions by visiting the Classes page on our website.

Circus creates a community that is welcoming and supportive for anyone and everyone! Join us to discover the amazing and inspiring world of the circus!

Julia

Julia has always had a passion for the arts and athleticism, performing in many bands and ensembles throughout her education and competing in swimming, diving, basketball, and track.  Her love for music, performing, and athletics has naturally led her to the world of circus.

Julia found circus in 2020, when she started taking classes at Ethereal.  She instantly fell in love with aerial silks and hasn't looked back.  Julia started coaching and performing aerial silks in 2021.  She loves forming personal connections with her students and witnessing them grow as people, as well as aerialists.

Beginning her movement journey with gymnastics as a child, Elizabeth then discovered and fell in love with circus as a member of OCircus at Oberlin College, where she graduated with a major in Cinema studies and minor in Dance.

In 2020, she completed the two year, full time Professional Training Program at Aloft Circus Arts in Chicago, IL where she majored in aerial silks and minored in cyr wheel.

She has since performed and taught throughout the country from Cape Cod, MA to Los Angeles, and throughout the greater Seattle area.

Katie is a full-time aerial arts instructor, and professional performer based out of Gig Harbor, WA. She is also the founder of Ethereal Arts Northwest! Her passion for fitness and people led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science with the intention of becoming an Occupational Therapist. However, she was swept into the world of circus arts and found she could use her skills and education in an entirely different way. She founded EANW in December of 2018, allowing her to both pursue her passion and share it with her community. She has been coaching circus arts for over 5 years and works with students of all ages and abilities. Her main disciplines are aerial rope and hand-balancing; though she also instructs in silks, straps, and lyra.

Mirrah fell forever in love with aerial dance as soon as she started in 2015. After a decade of technical theater and live music production, Mirrah changed pace and doubled down on her passion for aerial dance and pedagogy.

Mirrah has studied aerial with Sparrow Studios, Airbound Arts, NECCA, Paperdoll Militia, and more. She has performed with Airbound Underground Circus Collective since 2018, and served as coordinator for Airbound Arts’ Board of Directors. She currently teaches rope, silks, and trapeze at Sparrow Studios in Olympia, WA and Ethereal Arts in Gig Harbor, WA.

Anais

Anais was introduced to the circus world in college when she began practicing duo acrobatics. With her background in gymnastics and dance, she felt drawn to the spinny, graceful world of aerial hoop and started taking classes in 2019. As a hobby turned into a passion, she began performing in 2022 and teaching aerial hoop in September 2023.

She also trains handstands and contortion while continuing her duo acrobatics practice with her spouse. Outside of the studio, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and hiking with her dog.

Lara

Lara started her athletic journey as a kid when she found martial arts. She dove head first into this world and pursued it for 12 years.

Lara happened across aerial and circus arts in 2021 and hasn't turned back! Aerial has become such a love she spends all her free time in the studio and quickly found herself on the instructing side of things. Lara now coaches our intro silks classes while she continues to learn every other discipline she can find the time for!
